try to pull on the front left of the scanner section in an upwards direction (grab the front left corner of the machine and try to bend it back into place.

      Hi

When you cleaned the optics, did you remove the mirrors to clean them?.

If not take the out clean them and try the opposite way, I had to go to a call after a co worker had done this i was at it for 1 hour before i change the lower one around and solved the issue..

I agree with Masterchief. To check if the mirrors are right way round do this:

Take a screwdriver and touch the tip against the side that is in the image path. If it looks like the tip of the screwdriver and the image on the mirror "touch" it is right way round. If you see a gap, the mirror is inverted.
        Press the GREEN button!!

I would be alot happier if that was the fix.

Most likely cause imo is you have moved the scanner out of its correct position (probably jumped a few teeth on the drive belt)
                Either that or loosened mirrors.

The strange is one technician remove the printer/scanner boards from machine and no more lines from the exposure glass! The strange is we put other printer board and problem apears again so i try to change memory ram, hd and still have the same problem! Did anyone already face this kind of problem before!?
Hi... Pls let me know if you have already sorted this problem out. I'd like to know what was the remedy. If you're experiencing this problem only by copying from the Platen Glass it'd be good to remember that only from the platen glass does the scanner run. Scanner does not run for ADF and obviously counter print. So u could be having a vibration on the scanner as it runs that causes the problem, then also you can check the glass itself, pls also check the white reference plate underneath the left scale and see if it needs cleaning. I highly doubt it could be an electrical/electronic problem. Hope this will be helpful. In any event pls respond if sorted, with remedy.

Down the left hand side as you face the machine towards the rear, remove the little square panel where the scanner meets the machine there are a row of 4 or 5 screws. Loosen them all, lift the scanner up slightly below the left of the control panel and tighten them all tight before letting the scanner go. You might need to check your registration adjustments afterwards but it might sort the lines.

It's pretty common around here....excellent advice provided, and often never a "thank you" or any sort of feedback as to what the cause was. Now here you are, and for some reason you don't seem to have tried anything suggested here. Why?
Try some of the suggestions, and then you can provide some feedback?
My promise to you is the solution is within this thread!

Ill do what I can to help the thread! Got a call out to one of these today for the first time. So its a possible new take over from another dealer. I see the things here and Ill apply them IF I am allowed to work on it Monday.

The customer wants me to take over the thing and put a contract on it. Today I was like wow! This is a wierd problem! Owner wasnt able to talk to but will monday and hopefully they will let me try some of these fixs. In the mean time if anyone wants me to try something specific, now would be the time to ask because I think i will be back to try and work on this box Monday. I think its off contract?

It has 100k on it and the fuser looks worn. I suspect it could use a fuser at 150k . Drum was replaced around 75k plus developer stuff. I sure as hell am not taking over this box with this wierd scanning issue unsolved!

                            Thanks!
