Is it only on black or on color copies also? Is the distance between the blurs the size of a drum?

Sounds like a condensation problem, as the machine warms up, the moisture dissipates. Install drum heater kit. as was suggested measure the distance between the blurs to see if its a drum or xfer belt.

try to measure the gap between the distortions and divide it through , so you have the diameter of the potential sinner; in your case i would assume, that the black drum is the issue. maybe something is soiled and in contact with the drum while the mashine is standing over night, and the drum wiper has to do some work before getting it clean. And check the drum Gear and opposite too, maybe it is a drive problem.

It's the drum, replace the PCU.

You can measure the distance and divide it by pi (I haven't got the faintest idea where the symbol for that is on my keyboard, Herrmann's a genius!) but you'll find that it's the same as the circumference of the drum.

              It's the drum.

Incidentally, pretty much every woman in Ireland is called Sinead O'Connor. All of the men are called Paddy O'Reilly.

Turn on fuser idle in service mode.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

It's the PCU, a common fault on the MPc6000s too in which the drums are supposed to do 450k. They never do, they smear like this.

The fault only occurs on mono too.

                      alt + 210 = ╥

                      also alt + 227 = π

Check that the laser shutter assy isn't sticking . This can give the impression of blurring. If the firmware is old then loading the latest engine and system firmware will improve this function.
