Hello,
I can't seem to find out any information on email when a fax arrives.
I have a MP 3350 set up with fax forwarding to folder, I was just wondering is there a way to send an email to an address when a fax arrives?
I'm finding that customers are not checking the folder to see when faxes arrive.
Or is this even possible?

maybe fax reference manual can help you, read the reception and transmission section.

Why not just have the faxes forwarded to a common email account rather than a folder?

Ok, decided to take advice and have faxes sent to email.
Now the big problem I have is all the faxes are tif, how do I change the forwared faxes from tif to pdf?
Is there an sp I'm missing?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I've already done that above, that is what I use for forwarding the fax to a folder.
But when I forward the fax to email still tiff, I was just wondering what setting am I missing.

The setting only applies to Fax to email. Forwarding to Folder is only available as Tiff (as far as I know). Double check you've set the correct parameter to "1". It is the correct one

I know what you are saying, but that switch is only for forward fax to folder and 1 is pdf (switch 21, bit 3).
I'm starting to think that the machine does not support fax forward to email in pdf. I've set up multiple machines in the past with forwarding to fodler in pdf, but not to email.
I've been on the tsrc and I have to admit ricoh is not of much help. I'll have to look at the matrix again.

As it just happens, the machine does not support forwarding the faxes in pdf to email, only tiff.
So I just decided to leave it on fax to folder in pdf and have a program send an email from the server.

Yes it does. Unless it's a 'B' version (which might not support it). I set up an 'SP' version just a couple weeks ago with forward to email in pdf

fwiw D019( b version) is on the supported list as well...

If you have a Model that only has 3 tabs (Folder-Internet Fax- Fax) for the receiver when you are setting the forward destination you will not be able to scan to e-mail as PDF. If you ae choosing Internet fax as the receiver then it will only transfer as a Tiff. If you have 4 tabs you must select E-mail and set user switch parameter 21 bit 3 to 1.
