    Re: MP C4500

    Hi

How is the transfer/sep unit, if it is very smooth and you clean it and is still very smooth change it and trust me it does help alot, also how is the cleaning unit on the ITB. If the cleaning unit is not cleaned out properly or not working 100% it leaves spots and marks on copies. Its trial and error to be honest

Do a copy and open the door to cause a jame before the paper gets to the Trans/sep then inspect the paper, ITB etc. Then do another copy and stop it after it passes the Transfer/sep but before it gets to the Fusing unit and check.

This will help you solve this problem quick remember if you stop a copy and you remove the ITB belt the pattern should be on the belt but if you see spots or excessive powder its the cleaning unit failing.

ask your client or check the cartridges if he is using a compatible toner since this will create big problem to the machine. we have this kind of problem even if you clean the pcu's and itb the copy still bad. also the toner stick to the edges of the hot roller.

Sounds like a fusing issue to me, is it set to the correct paper weight?
How are the components of the fuser , ie press roller, internal press roller that sits inside the belt? etc
Are you using dodgy toner, you may need to increase fusing temp to compensate.
& Check the rollers in the exit unit, they get caked up in high coverage enviroments.
Try different paper too, maybe the paper!

    Good luck!
