I've had a rash of Ricoh MP201/Savin 920 fax boards going out. So far I've had 4 different machines I've had to replace the FCU & MBU. Machines are at a hospital where I have numerous other machines of the previous models. ie savin 3515,816,917. I've never had any fax issues with those machines. Is anyone else seeing problems with these models.

Re: Ricoh MP 201SPF / Savin 920 Fax Board Issue
Haven't seen any fax issues with these as of yet. We have seen 3 of the MFPs in the last 6-months where they get an SC101 (Exposure Lamp Error) right out of the box. Exposeure lamp works fine, but for some reason the machine can't read the white bar during POST. This is the only model we have ever had such an issue with, so from our experience, they seem to be trouble-prone...A Ricoh Service Tech for 7 year. A Konica Minolta Service Tech for 7 years. Now, KM service manager for 4 years.
My Ricoh knowledge is slowly dwindling away at this point. Many things have been lost to time... -

Have you checked that the scanner mirrors are all in place? We once received a batch of AF1515s where rough handling by the courier caused about 30% of the machines to act up on first switch-on, and we traced the cause to the mirrors being out of position. The mirror on the right-hand frame are prone to this as the frame is very light on that section of the scanner assy.
Not really sure what the deal was, but in the 6-years I've been doing this, it's the only model I ever saw with such a problem. There was one other incident, but it was almost certainly the shipper that caused it. Machine came in with a bent frame and smashed scan glass. It was very strange, as the box and packing materials were in perfect shape. I can't see that happening at the factory, but who knows.A Ricoh Service Tech for 7 year.
