    Mpc3500 sc548

Ok we replaced fused and optical sensors and still get random sc548 codes. Any ideas?

    thanks

Following the manual you have other two options:

    Replace IH Inverter
    B223 5170 Invertor:IH
    B223 5172 Invertor:IH:EU

Check the connections between Inverter and IOB

Update engine firmware to V1.64:01 or higher. This is a known problem and firmware will like fix your problem as it addresses this specifically.

If you already replaced the suspected parts then check the hot roller the orange color roller if it is already worn out. If so, replace it.

I assume by "Optical sensors" you mean the rotation sensors? The fault is a rotation problem, so these must be clean / replaced.

The firmware will (I believe) reduce the frequency of the code (Every 3 detections) but may not cure it completely.

I recall there was an issue with the foam on the internal belt rollers slipping on the roller shaft. As Dawn says, change the rollers.

I'm not sure, did you say you changed the Fuser?

            Fuser drive motor?

Tight ferrite roller? (would cause drag and slow startup of the fuser).... only if you haven't changed the fuser!

Physically stretch the springs on the orange idler roller, this will assist the fuser belt from slipping. This should allow you to get the full service life out of the fuser.

On the MPC2500 series we had the exhaust fans at the front of the machine slow-down giving an intermittant logic low to the controller.
The fans are located to the upper right of front cover below the operator panel.

Or they just get clogged with dust. Always worth a check, since they're just a cover away.

firmware update, both sensors for fuser drive and ferrite core drive have been changed due to issues, the fuser bearings tend to go,ferrite core should be replaced on life as well as it gets to much play in the gear, all these cause the SC548 and Sc549 errors. the fan mentioned previous is the sirrocco fan and does clog up, if not kept clean the IH coil will over heat and blow, this can then take out the IH controller and power supply. Best to check the sirrocco fans every 200k in my experiance.

The ferrite roller has its own drive motor and gear train. It is not driven by the fuser drive motor. It is located behind the fan cowling on the rear left corner of the machine. The train has a spring to keep pressure on the IH roller, could this be slipping? I have replaced the motor, gears and spring, and heard nothing more on the machine. (Not yet anyway. Was last there 2 months ago). The drive rotates inside the roller, even when the fuser is stationary.
