I hate to add onto a thread by asking for favours, but I'm also curious if any updated firmware for the MP171 has been released. As an independent now, it's kind of tough to get firmware and we're thinking of bringing in a Server 2012 VM for testing so being able to not lose our current workflow would be a good thing.

Hi guys,

we are italian ricoh tech w/o tessa access.
I would like to know if in the last FW updates MP5000 is in the list.
If so, could you be so kind to provide me this FW. Because Ricoh Italian Portal still won't provide it. (still 1.16 version)

I can't wait for all these EU machines to become bricked after installing US firmware... Either wait for your local firmware to be released or scan to FTP / email; it is a lot easier to setup than waiting for a firmware that may or may not work, and may cause problems later on.

Also for MP 5000, My Ricoh shows Network version 7.38 and System / Copy version 1.17 as available, at time of writing.

It seems Scan to SMB will not work with Windows 8 and Server 2012. I thought it might be usefull to share.

Where You checked this bulletin because I saw in Ricoh.com but I din't see this bulletin.

Ok... Just because the older Ricoh machines can't scan to SMB to Win8/Server 2012, people should not buy it? Wait for Windows 9 and hope that, by that time, it will work? Well with the correct network firmware most machines can do it. And if there's no update for the machine you can always disable Secure Negotiation in the registry.

There is a released or beta firmware on every single machine that starts with 'MP', which is the past 7 years or so, for this issue. Ricoh has the firmware just sitting there, we just need to install it.
