    [CQ] Savin C2525 background

    I have a customer with a Savin C2525. Recently, they started to get a yellow background on full color copies. No background on B & W. I cleaned all pcu's and the transfer belt cleaning unit. No help. I do not think they have ever changed the yellow pcu. Could this be the problem? Your input would be helpful.

      Does that only happen on copies, or does it happen when printing to the machine too? Run a test print from the Printer section of service mode. If the yellow background doesn't show up there, problem is most likely in the scanning area, and has very little chance of being in the print area (unless the customer is running bad print jobs).
      So if you don't see the yellow background on the test print, make sure the white plate, lamp and mirrors are clean, and give the CCD a good blast of air and see what happens next.

              It might be time to change the yellow PCU and developer. Check the copy count and verify the yield with the product support guide.

                  If you've already tried cleaning the unit, then it really does sound like it. You could try cleaning that unit's ID sensor as a last resort before breaking out the PM kit.

                      Tried replacing the developer and no help. I guess I will try the pcu next. Does that seem reasonable? I tried printing to the copier and still got the yellow background. Background on both printing and copying. I checked the log (from previous company servicing the machine) and the only pcu that has not been replaced is the yellow pcu. I hope that will fix it. The number of prints says it is time.

                          Replaced the yellow pcu and that fixed the problem.
