[Dead] PSU is busted (MPC 4000)

The machine was dead during my first visit and I pulled out the power supply unit for repair. After it was repaired, I fitted the power supply unit. The machine went on and paper jam error showed in the display. I checked the place where paper jammed. I found two papers jammed in the fusing and registration section. After I removed those papers, I then closed the side door unit. Suddenly, the machine went off. The power supply unit was damaged again.

Have you encountered this kind of problem?Which part is faulty? I am afraid that if I fit the power supply unit it will be busted again. Do you think it is grounded?

Which component in the power supply is damaged in this case?Fuses are all good..

i encountered in this problem many times first look to psu if some component burned or like boom sound or bad smell detect that no shorts. some shorts because parts in machine such as units/ cut wire / so reject all units .then always component such as mosfets/ resistors carbon /silicon diode always causes broblem

When an Apollon-C2 blows it's main power supply you need to change it and the IH coil PSU as a pair.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

        Hit it.

Usually on these machines the problem arises from the fuser unit. Have a look for obvious shorts! Secondly have a look at your IH unit and PSU. If possible replace as a pair.

Wow...our office will cry if I replace those two expensive boards because the machine is a rental machine. The question is what and why busted the power supply? Can we identify which electronic components of the circuit board is causing this problem?

In a word - haven't got a clue. I've never looked at a blown one to check. I'm sure a board repairers will be able to tell you though.
