Re: Ricoh MPc4502 PCU
Ok, I added Lagonda's picture of the base plate for clarification. We have over 60 techs in our area, so this will be a great benefit. Currently quite a few don't want to be bothered with modifying, thinking it's too much work and/or not knowing what goes with what. With the chart and pictures along with the proven immediate cost savings, there should be no excuse. Our six service managers are on board and have sent it out to the field to be implemented.
Thanks again to all involved for sharing your skills and knowledge, this could never be accomplished in-house and would be shot down by the non techs in control. It feels good to beat the system whenever possible.Attached FilesComment

Re: Ricoh MPc4502 PCU
You made a nice job of that list TeeBee.
I wonder what Ricoh will do next? will they give in gracefully or go out of their way to make the next generation of copier even harder to swap PCUs over.At least 50% of IT is a solution looking for a problem.Comment

Re: Ricoh MPc4502 PCU
You'd have made an even better job of the list if the part numbers were correct (B2232042 is obsolete now.)Comment

Re: Ricoh MPc4502 PCU
If you remove drum units from the copier and look into the back of the cavity you will see the locating lugs on the rear of the plate that holds the PCU.
Hi
Thanks for infos but I must be very stupid or I didn't understood something.
I tried to remove the plate that holds the PCU on my brand new MPC3002...
Since 2 hours, I'm removing screws, plates, doors...etc.
The thing is thats it seems very hard to remove the back screws of the plate (behind the controller box & the PCU drives...?)
Is there anything I missed? Is there an easier way to get this plate out of the copier????
Otherwise I'll buy big pliers to cut the plate...
thanks again for your tips and for your help to come!Comment

Re: Ricoh MPc4502 PCU
Thanks for the great cheat sheet. I added some procedure photos that I cribbed from other threads (sorry OP's, I'll try and hunt down your names and give you credit). I didn't have a photo of cutting the pin in the rear, so if someone has one or could take one then please add it to this pdf and clean it up as you see fit.
*FYI, I edited it online with "PDFescape".Comment

I'm using this cutting tool:

With a little careful not to touch the toner pump, cutting is fast and accurate.Comment
