Jamming last piece of paper (two-sided) in ADF on Afficio 1060-1075

When scanning or copying, the very last page stays in the ADF. Obviously, there is no paper jam occurring, because it's only happens on the last page.
It doesn't happen when it's making one-sided scan.
    In other words:
it seems that, after the ADF feeds the last paper for scanning, it does not conclude there are no more sheets in the ADF. In stead, it throws a paper jam error.
Could this be a sensor somewhere? Cleaning issue? Can anyone provide valuable information on this?

Is the original set sensor actuator in place? Does the original table lift into position when your originals are inserted or when the start key is pressed? If the sensor actuator is in place, does the machine beep to acknowledge the insertion (huhuh) of the originals?
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.
