    SC324 Development on MP4001/5001

I understand that the sc324 is caused due to the drive bearing on the development unit but has anyone find an alternative bearing part number to replace it? modbearingpic.JPG

I'd love to find an answer to this... Seems a shame to spend hundreds of dollars on a DV unit just because a 5 dollar bearing is locked up.

I have, on several occasions, taken the bearing out, pulled the seals off, cleaned & re-greased it, and re-installed it. It avoids a down customer & works for 100k+, but I would like to have spares.

I'll research it & post a solution if I find one.

I recently ran into this and found two Ricoh bearings that are the same size, just different seal, AE030022 & AE030027. Lower fuser bearings.
But if you want to find a bearing supplier the number is 6901RU for actual bearing.

        Great info... Thanks

I ordered 10 bearings from a company called VXB Bearing yesterday. Same PN you reference above (6901-2RS). They cost me less than 5 bucks ea. They look like they have the same rubber side seals as the ones in the unit. We'll see how they work.

Same here. Shoot some light lubricant down in there and it frees right up.

However, the only time I see this happen is on dev units with >500k on them that probably ought to be replaced soon anyway...

                  Re: SC324 Development on MP4001/5001

I've been replacing these with mixed results. If the V-Ring seal is damaged or distorted it will quickly fill the bearing with developer again.
Has anyone found a replacement for these seals? Kind of strange to supply a new bearing but forget seals. Sharp has had v-rings for years but nothing this size.

PN for the replacement bearing is B004 3059 Service Bulletin D129/D130 - 015

This is for 4002 It should be the same.

Good point Wild Bill. I've wondered about the seals myself. While running through a pm yesterday, I started wondered if maybe an answer would be adding a spacer of some sort between the auger and v-ring to help keep the seal compressed.

                    Anyone have any thoughts.....?
