    Will a type 1027 pcu fit a Ricoh 3025 (Savin 8025)?

I thought I had seen where the type 1027 pcu will fit a Ricoh 3025 (savin 8025). Could anyone verify this? Thank you.

Also the 3025 pcu will fit the 1027/2027 series if you remove 2 plastic pins from the rear of the pcu.

Many thanks for the verification for the type 1027 and the additional info about the 3025 pcu!

yea but I would not recommend it.. be prepare to get a good vacuum and filters after 2 months...it will dump toner all over the machine down to trays and feed tires....

          have fun cleanig it...

Not sure which machines you`re having the problem with here.
Swapping PCU`s in these units is perfectly acceptable, and a very common practice on these boxes.

No it wont we use them all the time in over 40 machines as long as you replace them every 60-80k theres no problem ive actually found the PCU that comes with the newer models is more of a problem with toner dumping.

I don't know how many machines you have in your area but we had one tech who is great at swapping the 1027 pcus on 400 machines (MP3025/2550) in our area. It cost more just to keep up with the cleaning and changing it back to the B205 pcu. Up to now, the managers are thinking about firing him for doing it.

it cost around $350 for 1027 pcu

it only cost $180 to rebuild B205 pcu with drum charge, cl blade, charge cleaning, developer.

                Why? why? why spent more?

Do you do rebuilds at 40K as recommended? the 1027 pcu assembly lasts upto 90k with a bit of TLC. so that's like cheaper when you include the labour time spent on a rebuild.

you must be kidding me right? the B205 can go up to 80k still without any issue if you do the pm correctly. I've seen the 1027 pcu didn't last for 12k after the replacement.

Just what I was thinking, you do of course, have to manually run dev initialization on these.

yes they fit, but a couple years back I ran the numbers on the rebuild vs the 1027 pcu. There's a reason Ricoh published a lower cpc rate when the B205's came out. With the 1027 your cpc rate is definatly higher' unless perhaps your using after market 1027's. It's your bottom line you make the call.

We found that the PCU1027 gears would give in in the higher CPM machines, and reverted back to rebuilding the stock PCU. On cost it is also cheaper that way than swopping pcus with PCU1027.

I know the techs like it because it is a quick call to swop the pcu, but the costs are tough!

Interesting idea. I had always come across the same issue with the rebuilds: the plastic gears for the dev unit would wear and trash the rest of the unit with them. My general rule was to go on a case by case basis depending on how the customer ran the machine. I was lucky though in that most of my users could always get by on the 1027 PCU since I could get a good 80,000 out of it before seeing issues.
