    MP C2500 Network Faxing

Question is can you have the fax attachment sent as a PDF instead as a Tiff?

Yes, go to fax features, initial settings, parameter settings, bit switch 21, change 3 to ON

You may be right, I can't remember which models I've set it up on. I have a notebook with useful info in, and that is one of the instructions I have written down

Mikedci is right - it can't be changed to PDF.

A lot of these smaller machines, as well as some of the older larger ones won't support it.

The deceiving part is that the switch (that Deb mentioned) is there, but has no effect.

Been there on this one, no fun - especially when the salesman promised the customer it will work.

The switch does work, but only faxes forwarded to a folder can be sent as PDF and not to email. Now that's the part I don't get.
I think it's basically machines 2008 and newer that PDF is no problem on anything

True, that is correct - folder is effected. I should have made note of that in my post - I guess I was focused on the email part.

I had a (very ugly) circumstance where the customer HAD to have it PDF, as they had the need to read the fax on a smartphone, and PDF was required.

Even though that was some time ago, it still sticks in my head.

Of course, the salesman said "No problem, we can do that!".

Sorry, but we've covered this already. This model is NOT capable of forwarding to email in PDF. Period.
