The tray is level and it does not attempt to move paper from left to right as sc code appears before it tries to. the main puzzle is the fact the machine sees the left deck is empty if i don't put paper in so it will not attemp to push the stack over, yet it still throws the 503 when the right deck empties of paper and lowers the plate. It shows all paper detect sensors are working perfectly and no paper in the connector, all mechanical parts are working correctly with the tray lifting and lowering when it should do, just the fact it seems to not reconise when the tray has hit the lower limit. Debs theory is the closest i have to explain what it could be but the tray is level. got senior tech (was tech spec) coming in on monday with me so hope to sort it

Got mr Wilkinson coming but it does seem to be lowering to slow in theory. have a lift motor on order as it looks to control the lowering as well, tray is braked for when deck is pulled out but motoer controlled when lowering due to paper out status. will keep you informed on Monday. love the odd ones but it is now an rtf on top of an rtf, not good for my stats lol

This is excellent advice. I've had this happen more than once.

Don't take any notice of stats, they don't mean diddly, there just a tool to beat us up with.

If the drive gear on the left side isn't the problem it's probably the front end fence on the right side.

Was lift motor, raising ok but must have had some lag when lowereing so it did not quite get to lower limit quick enough. Was only a matter of millimeters short of reaching the sensor though. new lift motor and away she went.

Glad you fixed it but I did kinda say it was that when I said it wasn't getting from a-b fast enough
