Re: PMs - Kits and Assemblys

I hope this helps you out,

    MPC3500/4500

You can use any of the kits that come from the 811dn series. So fuser, transfer and PCU/Dev's all work in this model with a little modification

    MPC4000/5000

You can use any of the kits that come from the 820dn series. So again, fuser, transfer and PCU/Dev's all work again with a little modification

    MPC4501/5501

Only kit you can use for this model is the transfer kit from the 820dn series, everything else seems to be different (please correct me if I'm wrong)

    MPC4502/5502

I have successfully used the fuser kit for the 830dn series, I have not tried anything else, but I'm sure you should be able to use the transfer and PCU/Dev units, but I find the PCU's in these devices are going over double their life, so why would you bother using the maintenance kits when the PCU's keep going and going...

    As for the B&W's

    AF3035/3045 & MP3500/4500

You can use the Kit A and B from the 8100 series. AD3035/3045 slap straight in, MP3500/4500, fuser modification is required

    MP4000/5000 and MP4001/5001

You can use the Kit A and B from the 8200 series. They are a straight swap

    MP4002/5002

You can use the Kit B from the 8200 series (fuser/transfer). The PCU has a different casing which is a different size, it does not fit in these devices.

    Hope this helps....

      Hi there!
One dumb question:has anyone changed a heatroller of MP 4000/01/5000/01? When we delivered fhe 1. ones i lay a heatroller, bushings... in the car. Only part until now used were 2 thermistors, and many webs. 2 weeks ago servicing a machine with 800K copies/prints on the counter, but the heatroller looked like a new one. How are your experience of this part?
      Greetings...

Nope, I'm quite happy changing webs if it has the effect of extending the hot roller life to match the life of the machine

Yep, changed a couple of these now. Like the web unit, the whole fuser is an over engineered piece of crap, lots of metalwork needs to be removed in order to gain access.

On a few of these machines we've removed the web unit, the hot roller generally lasts as long as the one did on the 3045, with the web unit still in place, the hot roller can get 600-800k before any noticeable wear starts to appear.

Just a shame they couldn't produce similar longitivity from the developer mix.

If I remove the web, does the machine counter have to be reset? I usually don't work on Ricoh's but these webs are a pain. Any and all tips for running machine without the web would be appreciated.
