    LD230 or AF3030

Getting SC322 code w/red wrench. The copies are grey background and some have white lines going down page (in portrait mode as the paper is fed with in long edge). The letters are elongated and looks enlarged. The few times I can print, I can get completely dark pages looks like sky shot, other times, white page out... everything is intermittent. As the days go by (about a week now), seems like the problem is happening more and more. Not able to print smc report. Also getting box that has the little squares on bottom it's trying to reset... nothing happens, must toggle switch off and on.

Replaced the LD unit, laser sync board and also the SBMC board. Nothing has changed. Checked 5v at switch.... that is as far as I got.

    Any ideas appreciated!

Since you have already replaced the SBCU (SBMC?) board, I would swap out the IPU. Sure sounds like a image/printing processing problem.

In my point of view there is something stoping the drum from rotating thats why you´re getting black copies and stretch "Enlarged Letters" check PCU unit and or drive

Check the flywheel and make sure it's not loose. Haven't had this issue on the smaller machines, but the 60ppm machines have the screw back out.

If this is like the older machines, there is a plastic gear in the drum drive that has a flat in the center to drive it. This strips out. The symptoms you describe are consistent with that.

Try replacing the PCU assembly with one from a 1022. The gears on the rebuildable ones seem to lock up and wear fairly quickly.

Try checking the data cable from the IPU to the laser unit, bent pins etc.
These can cause all sorts of wierd problems like this.
