    [Jamming] Bad separatin MPC4000

    Hi,
do you have any problem with separation in fusing unit when you copy full covered color duplex copy? The copy paste aroun hot roller. Fusing unit is on 41% of life time and it's look in good condition. It is evident that I have problem with separation but I don know what can I do? Do you know any solution?

Full colour 100% coverage double sided will never come out. (i dont know any copier that will) Single sided will jam 9 times out of 10. Unless you have at lest 4 cm of erase on lead and trail edge it will keep jamming. What you can try is 120 gsm paper witch will resist the curl a lot more, but printing d/s on it might be difficult .

the only way would be to have a huge erase or use over sized paper then use guillotine to trim to A4 or what ever size they are using.

A full bleed print is more trouble than it's worth. A substantial lead edge void area is necessary to avoid problems like yours.

The solution is elegantly simple actually.... sell them a machine that can tackle full bleed, like a Pro C751, not an office colour MFP.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

            Hit it.

Try printing/ copying on a thicker mode.. thick 3 is the best.. slows down the machine enough that fusing isn't a problem... most effective on full color duplex..

I don't know if the 4000 will duplex thick 3. The paper/card would be too stiff to get around the U bend.

Cannot duplex if its on thick 1. You can duplex with middle thick setting but not sure if full bleed will work
