    MPC7500 - what to expect?

First MPC7500 in my area, what can I expect from it? Highs and lows?

    Cheers!

You can expect lots of service calls and headaches, it blows toner all over the place especially in the winter, low humidity.
Ricoh is expected to announce it's replacement soon.
    We won't sell it anymore.

Yeah, I'll second that. The machines suck, you'd think Ricoh would have replaced them by now. Pretty much every call in the winter involves removing all four pcu's, taking them apart and vacuuming them out.

They may run good in the warm regions, but if you live in the cold, they make it a long winter.

You will need, prozac, blood pressure medication, panadeine forte, endless supply of rags, many many filters for your vac, lots of time, lots of parts, lots of patience, lots of toner and a positive outlook - things can only get better.

Thanks for the insights. I live in the mediterranean area (meaning average winters with medium to high humidity) so I'll keep my fingers crossed. I'll keep you posted of any happenings with it.

          Thanks!

Replace machine filters on a regular basis and dev @ about half life, vac out pcu's every other call.

Still be a pain in the arsenal but managable pain.

Your best bet is to sell it to someone who does very little color, it runs much better if you run mostly b/w

This works out to be our most costly machine to run!

Great machine if you don't run it! I agree with everyone else. Hunk of crap, developer eating, duplex jamming, overtoning piece of ----. We don't sell them either.

I concur with this statement. If used primarily for b&w it isn't that bad. They require a lot of ventilation. If the room is too small and the air doesn't turn the toner add clogs up. When it isn't clogged it randomly sprays color toner everywhere. Mostly Cyan and Magenta. All of ours have painted the walls behind them a nice rainbow color. No amount of vacuuming will clean it up unless you do a call every day.
