ithink in general a lot of the ricoh touch screens are "moody"
probably poor quality control in some far off chinese factory

If I could take a second hand copier home and be responsible for parts and repair myself... MPC 2500. MPC 2800 if I needed that extra copy quality.

Re: MPC25500 -MPC2800-- what to expect?

I didnt read everyones opinion in an effort to not bias myself.

I service about 100 of the 2550 models and another 100 or so of the 2500s and 2800s those 3 machines are pretty much the bread and butter in my territory we have begun to upgrade these to new models.

In my opinion they all seem to treat me equally.

The 2550 however has the lowest yeilds of the 3 and the drums do squeal however i have found it seems to be mostly with the original factory installed pcus, after the intial pm on them i have had very little issues with that. The drums are interchangable, and i replace cleaning units and pcus as close to yield as possible. The main issue i get with this one is people break the duplex reverse gate pawl a lot cause it kinda hangs out there and gets snapped when people take out paper jams I keep them on hand.

the 2500s treat me about the same as the 2550
longer yields but i replace the pcu's and the cleaning units as close to pm as i can, fuser imo is ok not as simple as the old machines but beings that its about the only thing that really requires any work its not bad. Problem wise i dont have a ton of issues, just dirty sensors and optics from time to time or cleaning a charge roller etc. more cust created problems then anything.

the 2800's if the drim is interchangable im not aware of that we use a d0292250 for blk and 2251 for color pcus. the yield is better then the other two models and cleaning units go much longer then the other models. overall this is probably the best in terms of problems, i rarely have them and most of the time is a pm part when it does fail.

I would recommend the 2800 but i really have no issue with any of them having any huge issues. you will just have more pm calls on the 2550 due to low yields on the pcu and cleaning units.
