    MP C4500 w/wrong output on SR790 or SR3030

    Ok gang !

I have a MPC4500 that will not output to the internal tray or finisher upper tray regardless of what type of finisher is used, both SR3030 and SR790 have been tried, or tray is selected in output mode in system settings. If finisher is disconnected, all output is directed to internal tray. No jams or errors occur when output is incorrectly directed. Firmware is current and correct, and has been reflashed at least twice.

    Any ideas and suggestions???

Thanks in advance for your help !

Let me finally add.... I do not need a manual.

What happens when you set copier output to finisher upper/shift tray and try a single copy? Does it still output to internal tray? Have you tried a different finisher? Perhaps a communication error is forcing the output to internal tray, there may be an SC7xx in SC history.

Check 'Sort' is not highlighted on the copy screen by default.

Ouput is set to internal tray for copies and when any finisher is connected it outputs to lower shift tray on finisher. No error codes or jams are reported.

Sort is turned on. Output is directed properly to internal tray when finisher is disconnected. Also tried replacing the engine & main board.

        Any ideas anybody???

Turn sort off....also I have seen weird stuff if the finisher firmware rom is too new or old for the machine. Is it the original finisher that was purchased with the machine?

Opps... Talk about a major foobar ! I knew it had to be something stupid and that was it...

now my question is why did that not reset when I reset to factory defaults in program mode???

No clue...I just checked a MPC4500 in the office and when I restore factory defaults sort is off. The copier gods are messin' with you.
