    [CQ] LD1135/MP9000 OVERTONING

    Hi everyone,

Bit of a pickle here and must admit I'm stumped.

We picked up this machine after it not being serviced for a couple of years. So I did the full Pms and replaced all worn parts and breathed life into it. Have done the PMS on a regular ever since, about a month ago the dev unit died and we replaced it with a brand new one(ouch!) And dev ran appropriate adjustments/ P everything's cool. About a week later cust calls in saying CQ is out so I go and check, he has done maybe 37k since last PM but copies are coming out way over saturated. Tried various tweaks in charge as support suggested as well as (I know it's bad) engine clear running at defaults for a while(NG) and re inputting data from install printouts(NG) ,have also tried running 50 -100 sky shots to bringing saturation down. Which it works for a little while then it's doing it again....

Yesterday I did replace all of the seals on cleaning unit as it was leaking out bad, much the same afterwards though.

I have attached a side by side image same picture left side is now right side is before all of the overturning.

Simple question did anyone change the toner add mode to pixel count?
    That mode over tones bad.

Nope, when back through the settings just to make sure its set for sensor... Interesting new development, the customer decided it was acceptable to run line art work(text with some clip art half tones) first copy looked great so he let the full run of 150 booklets (7 11x17 sheets or 1050 clicks) go. By the end of the run the Dark or bold areas look washed out, its as if the longer it runs the worse the copies get. The developer only has 10000 count (unit and powder)..... I am starting to wonder about an electrical/mechanical issue not just a settings issue. going back today to tear into it and see if there is a problem with toner supply as well as going back over resetting all settings back to install/upgrade print outs.

any other suggestions would be welcome. If further is needed let me know I can post pics and or pdf versions of the reports..

pics are of the original problem, i realized they didn't get attached, I will post first and last pictures of current issue later this morning.

your machine is probably undertoned (cant keep up wth the new customers jobs) which f**ks the dev and looks like overtoning. follow the bulletins for light copies after replacing the dev again

I think the pezo sensor on the toner hopper is dirty/stuffed. Clean the excess toner off the sensor and test. If it still overtones, might as well replace the whole hopper
