[Misc] Ricoh 2550 Not Fusing

I have a 2550 that does not fuse the first two copies, first thing in the morning. The machine does fine the rest of the day. ??? Any ideas would be helpful

Depends, could be that it's not coming up to temp quick enough when waking from energy save, so you might need to bump the temp up. Might be that the room the machine is in is quite cold first thing, or the paper is slightly damp. I'd start by flipping the paper stack before any print/copy jobs are pushed through and go from there.

Turn on fuser idling.
It will make the fuser turn and distribute the heat evenly before printing.

It's interesting, I don't think I've had more than 1 or 2 cases where I had to enable idling the last decade or more - and it was usually in a location like a construction trailer or somewhere similar that tended to be very cool in the morning. This year, I've had at least 6 machines that I've had to turn it on - a couple of the MP2550 series, and also a few of the MP2000/2500 series. I'm wondering what might have changed? Maybe a slightly different metal thickness in the hot roller or something?? Just wondering if anyone else has experienced an increase in this type of call

There was also a firmware update for this type of issue: make sure the engine version is at least 1.05.06
