[Electrical] MP2500SP lost the SP part of it

I'm servicing an MP2500SP (not the color model, mind you) which apparently lost all of the extras aside from the base copier-only model. Even when entering service mode, I've only got the option of getting into Copy SP - all the other modes are absent. Flashing the firmware (which only gives me the copier options) and enabling the network and usb connectors SPs gave no result whatsoever.

I never installed one of these anew, but since it has MP2500SP on the door badge, I believe it came with scan/print from factory.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance!

It likely could have had all the options pre-installed, but have you made sure they are still intact? Starting with the Print/scan SD card in the bottom slot? Do we know if the functions were working up until recently or not?

The machine has no SD card installed, although, when checking the installation procedure on the manual, I don't see any mention of it anywhere. Should a printing/scanning MP2500 have an SD Card for sure? If so, then someone must've used it to store porn or something...

        Very funny!
Yes, it needs (at minimum) a card in slot one
