Savin 9935 DPE / Aficio 350E Banding marks on copies

Yes, I know it's an old but machine, but I got a chargeable call from a new customer. I have attached a sample. I'm thinking charge roller? Not really sure. (Obviously, or I wouldn't be posting here now would I? ) Suggestions? THANKS

The two pieces of metal spring which supply the bias is not in contact with the charger roller

Either that or the drum is completely shot. I'd go with a PCU rebuild, including developer, then go from there.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

      Hit it.

I'd pay attention to the first two replies first. But if time permits, you might want to take the charge roller out and make sure it and it's cleaner are in good shape, and maybe try cleaning the charge roller with water on a cloth and see if that makes any difference. The way the arc of clear print moves up and down through the dark bands on the test print does kind of make it look like a charge roller problem.

Also on those older machines there was an issue with drum grounding through the bearing which is filled with conductive grease. i would probably try and check that and change it if necessary. It can give you that banding too.

Just wanted to follow up, guys. Thanks to your input, I was able to fix the machine. A little embarrassing, but the problem was indeed the charge roller. The issue was they had a small piece of foam stuck to it! Cleaned the charge roller and all are happy. Thanks again!
