    Ricoh Aficio 3045 part 2

I sent out this yesterday and had another question about it.

What I am curious about now is, does the operating system, whether being a 32 bit or 64 bit have anything to do with why this customer can't scan to a PDF file? Thank you for any help given.

32x and 64x only pertains to print driver.
Have you checked their antivirus/ firewall settings?
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

x86 or x64 mean absolutely nothing in terms of scanning. The only thing the two processor types do is determine how much memory an application or process can use for addressing. Like nmfaxman said: have you checked the antivirus or firewall? have you also determined whether or not the machine's firmware level is correct for the higher level of NTLM used by Windows 7? Have you also checked to see if there are any group policies in place on the network? Some network admins have set their networks to only accept NTLMv2 and to completely block NTLM and LANMan attempts at communication. They may also have the old NetBIOS port of 137 blocked, which Ricoh still uses for scanning.

No, it's firmware as you were told.
That is, assuming it's one of the OS's (Win 7, server 2008, etc.) in question, but you still haven't even mentioned that
