Ok...so its NOT the Lamp, Stabilizer, SIO, BICU, or the Lens Holder Assy. All these parts have been replaced with no fix.

Its not bad power as the machine is now in our workshop.

Turned the lamp on in output mode and did the ADF free run - lamp stayed on and didnt flicker. Good test but not sure what it means when it didnt fault!

Copy or scan makes the lines still, but only in B&W or full colour. Auto colour is fine - no lines.

Next I think is power supply, IPU as stated above or another df?

If Auto Color is fine, then you've narrowed it down to the image processing unit or memory.

I'd try the memory first. With all things equal, I'll try the cheaper solution every time. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Spent a bit more time on this today, still getting intermittant lines and SC101's. The lamp is still flickering causing the lines and I dunno whats doing it...

But it is now doing it off the platen glass with the DF disconnected so its definately not a DF problem.

So far ive replaced Scanner Lamp including wiring, Lamp Stabilizer Board, SIO Board, CCD, BICU - which is the same as the IPU, IOB, PWR Supply Board and also the memory DIMM. The mirrors and white strip are clean, no bent rails or anything.

Ive formatted the HD, reloaded the entire firmware. Tried another fuser for the hell of it...

Could a faulty NVRAM do this?

I'll have to admit not reading whole thread but on Ricoh's with weird problems I always try clearing nvram. Had MP5000 with weird print issue replaced controller and few other things nothing. Tech services said try nvram clear, sure enough fixed it. That was probably 4 years ago and have had that fix few Ricoh strange problems.

I'm puzzled allso, but those white lines that interupt that large black area look to me like excesive light on original.
Simmilar to when printing black pappers with cower opened and there is a lightbulb shining on cealing above u.
I'ts like a flare effect on scanner lence...now I'm not shure what do those shorts mean...IPU SBB FDA and the shabang...but did u try diferent scanner son?
Gears, springs, clutches, sliders, connectors and electronics...who on earth can tell what's wrong with it?
