Just had our first look at one and not overly impressed. Over complicated fuser and the 7502 is still only rated at 35% colour ratio. They are also staying with the toner in the dev idea but have boosted the amount of dev in each bag to 30%

It aint going to be the replacement for all those toner dumping 7501's we have out there that are being flogged at 80% plus colour ratio. Oh well only six more years until retirement.............

Not sure if it's a good thing or bad having the customer replaceable units. I can see benefits in it with the end user properly trained.

I can't imagine anyone outside of technicians in the real world replacing, for instance, the fuser unit. Even the PCU's will not be swapped by the customer with the exception of the over-zealous print for pay operator, which I am sure will lead to a call being placed.

The replacement for these will be the same speeds. Although, rumour has it Japan tested the new "baron" series successfully to 250ppm. We won't be seeing that speed though unfortunately (?).

                          Hi.

I was was thinking about up grading my MPC 7501's which I rent out for 6502 models. Has anyone any news if these are better machine, quality same or better I assume and the main thing, clean and hassle free....eg not dumping a ton of toner and need a vac out every 20k. Or would the pro 5100 be a better bet. For what I have seen online they are the same inside.

Any my advice would be great as my 7501's are close to the edge....of a cliff!!

                          Thanks guys.

                          Tim.
