SC 553 on Ricoh Aficio 2060

We have a Ricoh Aficio in the field that keeps coming up with the SC 553. We have replace the thermistors on the fuser and have also replaced the hard drive. Any ideas?

Your help would be much appreciated.

On the connector that mates the fuser with the machine loosen the screws and slide an E clip behind the bracket to insure better contact.

The end thermistor was at 240C for more than 1 second.

          Possible cause:
          PSU defective
          IOB control board defective
          BICU control board defective

Goose guide also mentions if you have the error code followed by a please wait, a short in the fusing lamp harness damaged NVRam.

if you have a spare fuser i would swap out..
sometimes changing the teflon roller if you did the thermisters already...
i have also had power outage blow fuser codes, once all 6 machines on one floor over nite as electricians were doing work.

Thanks, guys. In this instance, it turned out that the problem was with wires from one of the heat lamps in the hot roller having a bad contact. Problem solved!
