Hello everyone, One of my customers has a Ricoh MP W2400I and the machine prints like in the figure. Is has smudges on the feed direction above the letters. Anyone had this before? Do I have to replace the drum?IMG_20130529_171600.jpgIMG_20130529_171647.jpg

Re: Ricoh MP W2400 copy quality
What have you done so far? Do the smudges always appear in the same area? If so, I would be looking for something in the paper path that is contacting the image as the paper goes through the machine. I've never had a drum cause smudges. It looks like you've got some deletions also. Is it my imagination or are the words slightly skewed? If it is then, I would definitely be looking for something in the paper path. Ask the customer what happened just before the problem happened. Maybe they had a paper jam and left a bit of paper in the machine. I've had customers leave a little of the tape that holds a new roll together on and it gets caught in the paper path. I would pull out the Dev unit, drum unit and fuser and inspect everything and the paper path.Totoro -

I believe you will find if you do a little maintenance you will correect the problem. Remove the developer and drum unit then simply wipe down the lens and it will correct the image quality smudge. And if you do have the deletion that the image shows replace the charge wire while you are in there, also clean the transfer. Again it just looks like it needs some general maintenance.Comment
