    scan to folder setup on mp c2800

    im not a big network guy as in the past my accounts had their own IT guys do the setups..
    having an issue wth a c2800 that i am told by offpremise IT support the server address and name/password..
    when i enter theinfo ie \\10.10.73.2\scans i get a window for loggin name and password..
    DOES this confirm the address is correct? if so is this anything that wld stop me from logging in?
    the folder is set up to share etc etc..and is used on older bo64 b/w copiers...
    i gotta go there for a 3rd time today and need to get this done.

      If you receive a login message, that confirms the folder is shared. You will need to enter a valid network username and password which has read and write access to that folder. If the customer has a domain you may need to domain name qualify the username, i.e. domain\username or username@domain.

          Scan to SMB requires a user name and passord to authenticate the copier to the computer. Contact the person who set it up and ask them for the creds. Other wise, set up a new user on the computer and also use the same new creds on the copier in the file Transfer field.

              thnx..
              i am dealing wth pc on lock down..the offpremises it support wont let me do anything..cant even drop a file from my flash drive on any pcs..
              they keep giving me a different name and password but needed to know that they are the problem..
              got the lates firmware to load and was wondering wth scanning conflicts which firmware do you do..does it pay to just do all?

                  If IT won't give you proper access set a time you can be on customer site and work with them to get it set up.

                      i did set up a time but got caught in construction traffic going into city n ran 45mins late n they wouldnt
                      wait..
                      which i understand..i emailed the IT guy n told him to ask the office manager "who i know for 20yrs" if he could have the
                      loggon info emailed to me..
                      some of IT guys go crazy wth the names n passwords.lower case,upper case,numbers etc..
