I need your help guys. Our customer that has 5-month old MPC4502 complained about copy/print quality problem. It happens only once for about more or less hundred copies. It seems the residue of the previous copies and prints wasn't cleaned very well. I checked and cleaned all possible causes like the PCUs, TBU and Fusing Unit but I see no problem. Is there anyone has a problem like this? Thanks in advance.

What paper weight are they using? Have you tried increasing the fusing temperatures? Have you replaced the ITB cleaning unit? -

If it is fusing properly and looks like smears try setting 1801-072 to 3% to speed up the fuser motor. There is a buckle that forms caused by the registration roller driving faster than the fuser causing smears on most of the machines we have put out there.jesus loves you! I have setup a number of these machines as per the bulletin, some of them did the offsetting basically from new. I always put a new fuser in at the same time. Thes machines have performed much better.....however if your fuser has done anywhere between 30k to 150k it may need to be replaced. These fusers can fail early with any or all of these issues; offsetting, noise, jamming or total breakdown with sc codes.
The bulletin does seem to address the issue of staining when you have low coverage bw printing offsetting problems. We have seen the fuser motor speed issue and this seems mostly related to A3 size paper.

The fusing sleeve assemblies for the MPC3502 and MPC4502 have been updated with new part numbers. We have had a couple of machines start to offset very early in their life, the bulletin adjustments did not help, so the fusers were refurbished with the new parts and the problem went away.
These machines are also much less tolerant of incorrect paper type settings from the driver. The client needs to tell you what GSM they are printing onto, as the difference between the 'plain' and 'middle thick' settings is quite small, unlike earlier MPC machines where you could get away with putting 120gsm duplex through without changing the settings. I guess this is all about the machines being more efficient with power.Comment
