    1515mf Fuser Gate

One of my employees shut the side panel door and snapped the fuser gate panel,
I've found one online for under $50, and need to know what position to install the part
once it comes in vs buying a whole fuser, machine has about 100K on it and works fine
mostly used for a scanner and low volume printing on the network.

I have an idea that the "handle" end goes toward the back side of the unit, however I don't
have a service manual and the part was snapped in two so I don't have an idea of
it's position when in the machine.

    Thanks!

The handle side is partially for access to open the gate to help with clearing jams. Without having one to look at directly, it should be on the left front side of the fuser.

Here is the gate so that little handle will be facing toward me as I look in and toward the front of the unit.

I think rthonpm was thinking that it was this "blue" gate that you were referring to (below).

...and so was I until you posted the pic. I hope you ordered the right one.
It's much more difficult to break the one in your picture under normal circumstances.

The "hand" (or "Flag") that you're referring to on the part you've shown, does go at the rear of the machine. it's an actuator for a photo sensor.
You'll need to remove the little wheels and metal plates and install them on the new one. Take your time...they break very easily (trust me )

The blue gate is fine, its the black one, they call it a gate on the parts site.

I'll have to get in there and install the part, hopefully that will fix it, don't need
to spend $1000++ on a new fuser..

Dude, I could fit a brand new fuser for under half that figure and still make a good profit. IF you have been quoted over a grand for a new unit I'd be looking for a more honest service agent.
