Re: Ricoh MP2550 with SC672 Error
There's no connection between the Controller and the Operation Panel. Could be a loose connector/bad connection or a defective Controller Board, defective Operation Panel or a defective HDD. This is from the Ricoh Tier-database :
Depending upon the device configuration follow the steps below. Other codes may occur with the removal of options.
1. Hold down the period and the pound key for ten seconds.
- If SC672 does not clear go to step 2
2. Remove Fax Option from device
- If SC672 clears reseat MBU and re-install Fax Option if code reoccurs replace MBU
- IF SC 672 does not clear go to step 3
3. Remove all other Options
- If SC672 does not clear replace Controller PCB
- If SC672 clears go to step 4
4. Install Hard Disk Drive
- If SC 672 reoccurs replace Hard Disk Drive
- If SC672 is still clear go to step 5
5. Install the rest of the options one at a time until SC672 reaapears and then replace the last option installed when SC672 occurs.Comment
- If SC672 does not clear go to step 2

Re: Ricoh MP2550 with SC672 Error
I forgot to add it happened right after the power went out a few times from something else on the circuit tripping the breaker. There is a line conditioner on it.Comment

Re: Ricoh MP2550 with SC672 Error
Looks like it is the hard drive. When I disconnect it the machine goes right to the main menu with no SC672 error. Just getting a few error codes SC860, SC870, SC792, and SC925. I am assuming most are from the hard drive being disconnected. How do you get into the SP Mode and reset the address book, reset user info, initialize hard drive?Comment

You can easily mess things up without a manual!Comment

Re: Ricoh MP2550 with SC672 Error
I'm not going to mention access codes to the Service Mode here. Do a google search or buy a manual from Paul. Those codes you're getting are from the HDD. If it's broke you"ll have to replace it, or you can try to format it.

Re: Ricoh MP2550 with SC672 Error
I pulled out the hard drive and tried formatting it with my computer and it wouldn't format. I ordered a new hard drive from NWRs and just waiting to get that in. Thanks for the help.Comment

Re: Ricoh MP2550 with SC672 Error
Just FYI, the HDD can be formatted while still in the machine.NEVER ASSUME ANYTHINGComment

Re: Ricoh MP2550 with SC672 Error
The machine goes straight to a SC672 code when the hard drive is connected. I couldn't get into the service mode to even try to format it with that code.Comment
