MP9002 - Long Waiting Time (even after Jam Recovery)

    Hi guys,

    anyone out there running MP9002?

ever encountered the UNUSUALLY long waiting time after you clear a jam immediately or simply just accidentally opened and close the main door?

    personally tested it at site,

    Set 1:

in the midst of 50 sets at 20 pages duplex per set,
randomly at set 13, 24, 43 jam occurred.

after clearing jam, it prompts: "WAITING TIME: 7 minutes". and damn it took 7 real minutes to resume print.

    Set 2:

accidentally opened the front door, closed it back immediately.

    prompts: "WAITING TIME: 3 minutes"

All in ACTIVE mode. Not standby or sleep or low power mode.

    Counter at less than 30k.

Analysed Fuser Temperature in SP mode, no sign of abnormal.

Anyone facing this issue would like to share any solutions? No Tech Bulletin from Japan yet.

The 9002 has a much thicker hot roller than the other machines in the Martini-C4 range so the machine will be a lot pickier about temperature changes. If it becomes too much of an issue you can switch on fuser idling and slightly drop the standby temperature so it comes to ready quicker. I think it's just the nature of the beast though.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.
