    MP 4000 dog ear duplexing

Ok have a MP 4000 with about 25K on it. It dog ears on when it duplexes but the issue is not in the duplexer it happens between the fuser and the bridge unit...doesn't do it every time. Happens on the front side of the copier.

Why does crap like this seem to happen all at once?

The feed rollers on the outside of the fuser unit (you can see them when you open the side door of the machine) cause some creasing/jamming faults if they're slightly out of position.

Are you saying that it only does it after the second side is fused and the paper's going through the interchange unit? If so, I'd remove and check the interchange unit.

Of course, it could be damp paper...

also make sure the blue guides that sit on the exit between the bridge and fuser are installed. causes dog ears especially when using the finisher. usually not installed by the PDI team.

blue ones. 2 that sit on the exit. If you open up the bridge flap and look to the right they sit just underneath the exit rollers. if there missing they cause the said problems. I asked this a year or so ago and someone gave me the part number as the PDI didn't fit them. Sure its an mp4000 but i am getting old

The blue ones, about 3" long? I think I've seen them before but, like you, I'm getting old and rather jaded with the mundane day-to-day struggle!

that's the ones. with a little cut out for the exit rollers. causes dog ears on the front side for some reason without them?
