[Misc] Toner on Metis printouts can by erased

Hello World
The letters and lines can be erased by a normal eraser....

Any ideas?


- Rise the fusing temperature wasn't successful
- Firmware are up to date (2013-10-28)
- Machines are new. (500-1000 printouts)

it's happend an all METIS. Actually on the MPC3003, 3503, 4503 and 5503.
For this issue, the type of paper it doesen't matter.. but anyway, it's a high Quality paper from ricoh ltd.

Interesting but not reproduceable with my demo machines (loaded with color copy paper)

I tryed on many machines.. about 20! and it happened on all of These. i just tryed with normal 80gr/m2 with paper, not Color copy

Does it only happen in spots or can you erase the entire page? If it only in spots, I would suspect something involving the paper. It could be excess moisture from improper storage.

That's pretty strange - I tried really hard with an eraser but no effect. Can do a test with normal paper tomorrow but I'm shure I would've get calls if one of our picky customers would have recognize this.

Have you tried replacing hot roller ? (seeing that it new you might not want to replace it.) but I have seen the inner coating in hot roller start to flake off and cause problems like yours. just an idea to check.

This might be stupid, and if so sorry about that, but what is "Metis"? I tried searching for it, but couldn't find anything useful.

It is important, so here is what it's all about - The Greek word metis meant a quality that combined wisdom and cunning. This quality was considered to be highly admirable and was regarded by Athenians as one of the notable characteristics of the Athenian character. Metis is the name given to the machine that replaced the Athena and Apollons C3s
