Plotbase error message with Ricoh 240W

I am receiving an error message when I attempt to send a job to a Ricoh 240W plotter that says there is an internal error 0x0012. Could anyone direct me to error codes for Plotbase?

sounds more like a windows problem, did it start now or did you never print to the machine

      RW240 Upgrade Procedure
      (From Ver.3.2 to Ver.3.3)

      (1) How to upgrade from 3.2 to 3.3 on a server
Several components make up the RW-240 PLOTBASE.
Some of them are installed automatically by executing the setup of RW-240 PLOTBASE, others
have to be installed manually from the "tools" directory.
In the case of updating from RW-240 PLOTBASE version 3.2 to 3.3, it is necessary to first
uninstall version 3.2, but this cannot be done automatically in all cases and for all clients.
This document describes the necessary steps to uninstall those components that cannot be
updated automatically by the RW-240 PLOTBASE setup of version 3.3.
      Start update

      1. Close all running applications.
      Upgrade the D2 Kernel driver
      Stop the Apache web server

      Stop the SNMP service

      Uninstall the RW-240 PLOTBASE

      28. Open the "Start" menu on the task bar.
      29. Select "Settings".
      30. Open the "Control Panel".
      31. Double click "Add/Remove programs".
      32. Select "Plotbase" from the list of currently installed programs.
      33. Click the "Change/Remove" button and follow the steps.
Uninstall the Apache web server (not essential but recommended)
      34. Open the "Start" menu on the task bar with left mouse button click.
      35. Select "Settings".
      36. Open the "Control Panel".
      37. Double click "Add/Remove programs".
      38. Select "Apache Web Server" from the list of currently installed programs.
      39. Click the "Change/Remove" button and follow the steps.
Delete the remaining files and directories
      40. Delete the directory c:\RW-240.
      41. Delete the directory c:\spool.
Install RW-240 PLOTBASE (Version 3.3) on the Server
      42. Read the instructions in the installation manual of RW-240 PLOTBASE version 3.3 and
      install RW-240 PLOTBASE version 3.3.

      (2) On a client
      Uninstall RW-240 PLOTCLIENT WIN

      Uninstall RW-240 WINPRINT
It is not necessary to uninstall RW-240 WINPRINT, as it will be updated automatically on server
and client PC, by the setup procedure of version 3.3.
If, however, the RW-240 WINPRINT was not automatically updated by the setup of version 3.3,
please start the RW-240 WINPRINT setup manually from the tools directory "C:\Program
Files\RW-240\RW-240\tools" or from the CD that was shipped with the RW-240 Controller.
If uninstallation of RW-240 WINPRINT is necessary, the procedure is as follows:
      56. Open the "Start" menu on the task bar.
      57. Select "Settings".
      58. Open "Printers".
      59. Select "RW-240 WP"(*).
      60. Press the "Del" button on the keyboard to delete the printer.
*Default setting. What you select depends on your previous setting.

Install the RW-240 CLIENTS (Version 3.3)

      61. Read the instructions in the installation manual of RW-240 CLIENTS version 3.3 and install
each program of RW-240 CLIENTS version 3.3.

I'm with you. I think it's a Windows related issue. Have you recently done a Windows update on the problem pc or the plotbase server? Is it a frequent error or random? Are the jobs sent from the winprint, webclient, or plotclient?

I've got a few customers who have similar errors, but they don't want to pay to have the plotbase software updated. Also, the job may have been sent incorrectly.
the savin2535 is displaying well bet the hiter lamp is not shining and the lamp had been tested o.k.please kindly help.

Hey the most recent version I've seen is 3.7x ( down load able from tsc) and good luck with vista. Also if you don't uninstall buy the book it will have problems.

We've been using this plotter for 3 years now and this message just began showing up in the plotter status window. The full text in the plotter status window is two lines as follows:
"Cannot set the job, The changes you requested to the table were not in the index, primary key, or relationship. Change the data in the field or fields that contain duplicate data, remove the index or redefine the index to permit duplicate entries and try again (Internal Error 0x0012)"
"Error while putting new job in data base"

And that's it, I really don't think it is a windows problem, but I cannot find any error messages the Ricoh 240W.
Thanks for any help you can give.

Can you print a test page from the printer driver?
If it prints fine you have an application problem.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

No, a test page from plotbase will not print, and a test page from the plotbase application will not print, you get the same error message on both.

Check and make sure the CFG and SSL folders on the plotbase server are shared and not missing. Something tells me I've seen this before, but I think it's been awhile. I'll check some histories tomorrow to see if I can come up with anything to jog my memory.

I have checked the sharing and the permissions and that seems to be fine.
Any information you could provide would be appreciated.

                          Problem Solved

I finally solved the problem of Internal error 0x0012.
I cleared out the job queue completely from the Plotbase job list, then shut down plotbase and restarted it and everything worked fine. Apparently one or more of the jobs in the queue was causing the problem. I have Plotbae set to delete all jobs >30 days old and the problem just started this past Monday 05.26.08. But all is well now. Thanks to all who offered their help.

Good to hear that, thanks. Maybe just restarting the plotbase server would of solved the problem, in my point of view it had something to do with windows and not file queue, but OK the problem is resolved and thats what matters, thanks once more for the feedback.

Good to know that you fixed the issue already. Plotbase gave you the answer there.
