    ricoh mpc4500 missing adress book function

    It worked when i got there!! I was turning on the usb function, for the customer to print usb cuz he aint got no internet.... and i re booted the machine and the e mail , folder quick touch is gone. it says its unavailable???
    please someone tell me what happened to it? or is the usb on causing this to diss-appear? i switched it back on and off, no quick address book still.
    any ideas?

      well still no luck, the quick dial boxes are still unavailable... anybody?

          Sorry, I'm still a bit unclear on exactly what you're saying.
          Is it that the "email" / "folder" buttons that are typically displayed, are missing completely? as well as some 'pre-programmed" destinations?
          How about the "frequent" buttons.
          Does it have a fax option, and is the screen normal?
          The typical address book issues I've had have been related to HDD issues. Did you try reformatting?

              Is it that the "email" / "folder" buttons that are typically displayed, are missing completely? yes,
              the are gone, the only way to send something is manual destination,
              I will try to re form the hd and see if that brings it back,
              I have never seen this in all my days as a tech.

                  Before you format go into the address book and see if there are entries, after formatting there will be NO entries!!!!!!!!!!!! Also after formatting do 5846-50 to initialize the address book....

                      I would use the web interface to backup the address book before format, then you can just re-up it.

                          When turning on the USB did you turn the Ethernet off?

                              no i did not, but i will check to see if if got turned off somehow.
