A fucking hand grenade in it i said in early post this machine was crap i stand by my decision will never
recommend our reps sell this heap again its becoming worse than do i say it the 1224/1232c series !!

Well, the positive look at this is that we are kept busy and very needed :-)

Fun job isn't it!!!
I changed a yellow toner supply motor and toner hopper for intermittently asking for yellow toner (3rd call for this), I managed it in 2 hours. When I took the back cover off (held on by 13 screws ) I was expecting it to look like the MPC300, boy was I wrong, mind you, it took me closer to 4 hours to change the same parts on an MPC300 a few weeks ago

I also have two multi-function with the same defect, after replacing the pump toner yellow, the board of the high voltage, the transfer belt and the yellow pcu came to my mind to reverse the two groups re-calibrated the laser .... colors and seems to work .... hopefully good because the company I work for has sold about 200

happened again todayyellow missing partial having so far swapped the laser unit and the ribbon cables brought it back into the workshop now and whilst in transit for 2 hours when it got back it worked :/

I'm thinking its something on the Bicu as Ricoh released anything on this issue yet does anyone know?

Hip Hip Hooray, Oh frabulous day!!! Ricoh have just admitted there is a problem with the design of these turds. If you put too much pressure on the paper exit tray it hits the laser unit underneath and knocks it out of position.

Their solution.........wait for it.......... take the laser unit out and put it back in again!!!.........

I've had two of these machines with "Toner cartridge set error" now and both have been a pin bent on the BRB PCB ( toner detect pcb).
I assume the new toner cartridge is replaced 'with force' and the centralising hole doesn't have time to work and it bends one of the pins on the side of the locating post on the PCB.

Not quite a bad strip down as the toner hopper but close.

Its not a Bad machine just seems a Bad Batch to me..

I wouldn't put it in the same shit list as the 1224

They're an apocalyptic chunk of shit. Even Ricoh's helpdesk cringe when you ring in with a fault.

Had two more of these machines with "Tnr Cartrg Stng Err" this week.
Neither had pin damage on the BRB pcb and both were fixed by changing the toner cartridge housing assy and the relevent toner hopper.

Becoming less impressed with this model by the day

Just to add, ive seen the toner not set message a couple of times, both had bent pins, it is posible to bend the pin back without stripping the machine, i've invested in a 21" flat blade driver specificaly for this fault!

All my problems with "Tnr Cartrg Stng Err" have vanished since we started putting colored stickers C-M-Y on both ends of the toner boxes. And I have 3 dozen in the field. I puke'd every time I got a call for that service error.....

We've put quite a few of these box's out and they really are a piece of junk !!

Ive had to replace 7 yellow coils and as you guys now that aint a two minute job. Ricoh still havent admitted there is a problem but what we have found is it seems to be on lower volume machines where the mylar in the coil unit sits on top of the toner and eventually bends then it doesn't move the toner down the coil. The only thing to do is replace the coil with the same mylar in so guaranteed to do it again.

Ricoh have said they are working on a fix for the laser which might just be a modified exit cover but still waiting to see that one too !!

I had a conversation with ricoh tec they think its heat from the fuser that makes the ylw toner in the coil clog this is only an idea
but it would make sense we have had about 6/7 do this

Solution for the Partial missing toner as been released this week there's a new part number for the Exit Tray and a Seal for the side plate the part numbers are d1171313 and d1171064 the info is in the latest My Ricoh publications
