I don't think so, but I'm dying to know what your reason is?
Reason is that , copying from university certificate and other resticted original is not possible.
If you copy from those originals copy will be full black or half black. we are facing from this problem in photocopying centers. COPY DATA SECURITY NOT THE REMADY FOR THIS PROBLEM.
Is it possible to block colour scaning in MP 9002 B/W COPIER ?.
Is there any tips?.
pls update.

here's a suggestion... what if you put a user code lock on scanning? allow all users to use blk and white scanning only. I don't know if that is possible. check the Operation Manual.

I don't think that's possible, I think you can only lock down colour copying and printing (on colour devices), or lock all scanning, I've never seen anywhere to choose scanning features that can be locked out.
I'm still not sure I understand why anyone thinks blocking colour scanning is going to resolve the original problem which is a copying problem
There are 10 types of people in this world, those who understand binary maths and those who don't
IAM FACEING THE PROBLEM WITH A COPYING JOBER.PHOTO COPYING JOB]
HE IS GETING LOTS FOR ORIGINAL [ UNIVERSITY CERTIFICATE, COPY RESTRICTED ORIGINAL.] FOR COPYING .
HE IS UNABLE TO TAKE COPIES ,BECAUSE ALL THE PRINT OUT WILL BE HALF BLAK OR FULLY BLACK. HE IS USING OUR AF2060 .IT DON'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE IT HAS ONLY B/W SCANING.SO HE IS REFUSING THE 2 NO: MP9002SP,WHICH I RECENTLY INSTALLED.

If the concern is that they want bypass Copy Data Security of color originals by scanning in B/W and then printing, the solution is to disable color printing. This is done through user code restrictions. You can also edit the print driver to only allow B/W printing.
I feel confident that in the near future Ricoh will incorporate a Copy Data Security type feature in scanning, i.e. if you will not be able to scan a secure original.
Setting Menu Protect to Level 2 in Scanner User Tools might work. Worth a try.
Menu Protect
In addition to the System Settings, Menu Protect limits user permission to access the initial settings menu
for each function. This function is also effective when management is not based on user authentication.
To change the menu protect setting, first enable administrator authentication. For details on how to set
administrator authentication, see p.15 "Configuring Administrator Authentication". For a list of settings
that users can specify according to the menu protect level, see p.305 "List of Operation Privileges for
Settings".
Scanner Function
1. The machine administrator logs in from the control panel.
2. Press [Scanner Features].
3. Press [Initial Settings].
4. Press [Menu Protect].
5. Select the menu protect level, and then press [OK].
6. Log out.

Yes, shouting will work, it always does.
In Scanner SP there may be an option to turn on RTFM mode. I can't recall exactly where it is, without resorting to reading the f'ing manual.
