Is there a method for de-curling the leading edge of a page that has been run through the duplex module on a MP4500? It only curls when duplexing and only the corners of the leading edge, causing jams, usually in the finisher when stapling. I have adjusted the fuser heat up and down, with no luck. The fan under the op panel blowing across the fuser exit is operating (that is for de-curl, right?)This has been an on going issue, and is usually corrected by flipping the paper over in the tray, but I was looking for something better to resolve this for our customer. Any help is welcome.

You might have to try different/fresh media. I have a ton of these machines that never have had a curling problem.NEVER ASSUME ANYTHINGComment

Paper always has a curl to it. The better the quality of the paper, the less the curl. With your average office supply store, you do not get premium quality paper. If they are always using the same brand of paper, start with a fresh pack of paper. Observe the orientation of the label on the pack. Load the tray and test. Turn the paper over and test. You now should be able to determine which side of the paper is the load this side up side. Instruct the user to always load that side up.Comment

If you must try something different, try changing the orientation of the paper, sometimes LEF works better or SEF works better, it is up to you to experiment and find out which way actually works. Back in the day loading paper seam side up worked better, but I don't think that's an issue anymore.Comment
