I have had instructors and regional support people recommend it and a couple of other car wax/polishes to use on development rollers to keep toner film from building up.

i use scotchbrite and alcohol and rub the top coat off tills its pale.
of course ricoh would not advise you to do this as well as modifying the black drums to color.

Removing the cleaning roller is the key to getting it to work. I use scotchbrite and alcohol to take the coating off, ensure it's completely clean and dry, and it really does work

On the color machines i do the same we use the Nu-Finish, we also use the wax on cleaning blades and drums for all B&W machines that the pcu comes part instead of using the powder, however on the B&W machines if the charge roller gets dirty i use soap and water in a sink to clean them, pretty much do that as a first attempt if i get called back within a week or two for the same problem i replace the pcu on the color machines. I dont like coming back a 3rd time.

the same kind of roller is used in MP C7500, well i did clean it eventually removing the gray-ish coating, but it doesn't work any more. Clear me if i 'm wrong here, i have read the entire thread, do any of you suggest that removing charge roller cleaners can make it work? please reply ASAP coz i 'm kind off in a middle of this thing.

Most of the time I just give it a gently wipe over and not remove the coating, I only remove the coating if the charge roller is damaged and even then only part of it. If it has stopped working then you have to replace it or the complete drum section.

                Picture shows one almost finished.

I use a brillo pad moistened on one corner with rubbing alcohol, and then wipe away the dirt with a clean cloth, turn the roller a bit and repeat.

Check to see if you have bent the contact for the charge roller. I have done this a few times myself. Also this model uses a non-contact charge roller (i.e the roller does not touch the drum, 0.05mm gap). Removing the coating could make the gap too wide.

Only remove the charge roller cleaning roller or place paper between the charge roller and cleaning roller to keep the cleaning roller from getting damp while cleaning the charge roller. Reinstall it after the charge roller is completely dry. If the cleaning roller is damaged, it is time to replace.
