    Ricoh MP7500 / Savin 8075 SC723

Client says stapler stopped working and sure enough have an SC723 code. The stapler seems to move to
rear of finisher when initializing but does not travel back to front. I found the pictured parts in bottom of finisher and do not see where they should go if even part of this unit. Any ideas?

    Thanks

all right the piece at the top of the pic is a shim for a punch unit. Assuming you have a punch installed it could have been left in the bottom of the finisher. The small screw was holding the piece at the bottom of the pic to the feed out belt for the stacker tray. when the stacker tray breaks at the top where the belt pulley is attached you can have this happen, or the nut for the screw became free and ejected from the ass'y. there are TSB's for this on the SR970 series !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tonerbomb forgot to mention that SC723 is a feed out belt error. The clip being missing, or laying in the bottom of the finisher, is one of the causes shown in Goose's Guide.

And this clip would cause the stapler not to go to home position?

You may also have a home position sensor problem, but the code is for the feed out. It is also posible that once the code occurs, all other homing operations stop. Fix the feed out belt problem and then see if you have any other codes.

I my experience Finisher related codes are often caused by owerload on motors, some of codes dont make any sence I know, but just lubricating bushings can solve a lot of problems.
Make shure you don't lubricate 2 much, don't want greasy papers coming out.
Gears, springs, clutches, sliders, connectors and electronics...who on earth can tell what's wrong with it?
