    Info about finisher's operating speed

    Hi everyone,

Is there any info available on finishers operating speed when stapling, folding,...? I tried searching the Service Manuals for timing charts but didn't find anything helpful.
Some help would be deeply appreciated.

    Thanks

Do you have a specific finisher in mind? Or all finishers in general? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: Info about finisher's operating speed

Most finishers that are used by Ricoh are specific the certain model printers and MFPs. The speed of the finisher is set to match the requirements of the equipment it is attached to. Most finishers have a prestack function that holds the first two or three sheets of the next job while the current stapling finishes. On other combinations, such as a booklet finisher on a production machine, the printer/MFP will actually delay the start of the next job until the finisher has finished the current.

Sorry guys for the long wait and thanks for the replies.

It was the MP9002 finisher. Nobody at Ricoh was able to answer our question, not the tech neither the sales department. They said that there are no studies or tests for this kind of things.

Like slimslob said, the manufacturer pairs up the finisher based on speed, and may slow down the finisher a little to match the machine speed. In most cases you can go with the machine copy speed as your specification. =^..^=
