Could someone please explain:
If you can take a black drum unit and put a color dv on it and its slides in. Why cant you take a color unit install a black dv and it will not work , is there some way to make this work ?

Why are you working with color drum units? They're 3 times more expensive than the black ones.

because I have around 20 good used color units ( I just junked 6 mpc 2000 for spare parts)

I didn't work on a Ricoh Color before,are you sure there is a good concentration of developer in?

The only difference is the connector on the drum unit. So it should work...
