If both bottles are empty, it should allow you to remove the bottle that went empty first. Once that one is replaced and in use, you should be able to remove the other.

With the lower rear cover off you can see the rear of the toner bank. You will see 2 white gears on the tonerbank, these gears drive a rack gear that removes or installs the bottle caps. then you can remove the gear and push the rack in to put the cap back in the bottle. Then you should be able to remove the bottles.

I'm Having the same issues, have change the toner pump (D059-3410) and the tube (A294-3475) and the screw that goes in the tube (A294-3477). Still having the same problems, read the someone had changed a clutch which one is it and do you have the part number.

Try the tube (B2343282) that goes from the toner cylinder to the toner pump. The Teflon coating on the inside has probably deteriorated as the tube has clogged. Try cleaning the tube out. If that clears the problem, but it comes back, replace the tube. A quick way to check if clogged tube is the problem, check if there is toner in the toner hopper on top of the development unit (it will probably not be full), clean or replace the tube, run SP 2207-002 (toner bank setup), if the tone hopper is now full the tube was the problem. I have had toner in these tubes compact and clog just by having the tube disconnected from the toner pump while replacing the pump.

Are you working on a Pro 1357ex? If the model you are working on is different, the information you need could be very different than what is listed here.

Count is about 3.5mill and for the last 4 or 5 months we have periods where it just keeps throwing up a functional problems screen (no error code). The engineer doesn't seem sure what the problem is and just and just plugs and unplugs connectors and cleans things out (his words). It then seems to be fine for a while. We've probably had 8 service calls for this problem over the time. I'd guess we get something like 70k between the issues.

For example, I have a 12000 run to do. It did 8000 with no major problems but now will only print c150 copies before it errors. As far as I can tell the underlying error code is SC495 (from the data log).

Does any one have any idea what the long term solution might be? I can't keep calling them out every month cause it's killing my production capacity.

                  Thanks

                  Michael

SC495 is related to the toner recycle system. There could be a blockage in the pipes or a faulty pump/Sensor. Ask them to check the Toner recycle unit. Its a bit of a job but that is where the fault lies.

                  Hope this helps.

SC 495 indicates a toner supply problem, not a re-cycling problem as in previous post. -Look at the top of the developer toner hopper, is the hopper nice and full when SC 495 occurs? If not, run toner bank motor then energise toner supply coil cluth and look in toner cylinder to see if toner is transported to it. Next, it could be the short toner tube from toner cylinder to pump is blocked, remove it, ream it through with coat hanger wire and vac through , or replace it with new. Also could be toner supply pump, have seen one blocked with hardened toner. Remove it, tap it on a hard surface and see what falls out. Not really possible to dismantle pump. Test system pumps toner thus: remove drum and developer assembly, lay a sheet of A3 inside machine below output of toner pump, defeat interlocks and run the toner pump whilst pushing the spring loaded flap open with a long scredriver. A healthy amount of toner should start to emerge. Quickly switch off pump, clean up.
                    Hope that helps.

We have the same model and intermittent 495 issue but thoroughly cleaning the entire toner supply unit solved the problem. Always check the pump if it is working.
