[CQ] Mpc7501 itb unit dropping toner

Hiya. I have this problem I would love to solve. The image transfer unit builds up toner on the lip by the mylair by the cleaning brush. I have swapped the ITB unit completely, renewed devs, drum units and fully vaced out several times but give the machine 1500 copies there is a little ridge of toner appears on the mylair and ridge mainly in the middle and I just can't fatham it out.

Just had it again dropping speckles of toner and vaced again, checked the brush is turning and the orga is turning to get rid of the waste toner and all is fine there.

Any help or if anyone has had anything similar that would be great.

    Thanks loads

    tim.

I have seen one of the springs have its little plastic hook break on the cleaner blade, resulting in poor cleaning. To be honest (and I work on 100's of this model) there is something wrong if it isnt dropping toner!

Im with Turbojetboy...they ALL drop toner! But are you sure its from the ITB and not the PCU void? Between the dev tank and drum? Dont think ive seen the belt causing any problems.

Hiya Guys. I have replaced the ITB but yes have had the spring come off another unit before so aware of that one :0)
We all know the blimin machines drop toner which we all do our best, hoping to replace mine with a 6503 once I have the money and customers as I rent my machines out. I did think it was the PCU gap at one point so changed the drum and dev unit just in case it was a dodgy seal and mylair on the drum unit. But nope...still bad. Thanks for the advice tho guys.

Make sure the unit is level - 100%. The bigger machines like D052/D062/D066/D081/D014 have issues with toner dusting if they are not level.

Ricoh has put out a number of Service Bulletins on toner scattering. If you have access to Ricoh bulletins, look at 013, 017, and 035. Especially 013 and 035. If you need bulletins, maybe Paul can help you.

Hi Helios. Yeah all level. Use to have another machine there for years and it was fine. Wish I had not upgraded it as this one seems to be a pup. Done everything and now this problem is just depressing me.

Hi slim. I don't have the access to them. I will see if I can find them but I have seen over the years all the scattering remedies etc. This seems to be a one off of the edge of the ITB unit as explained in the middle of about 2 inches gradually getting toner on it then speckling onto the copies as they go over the transfer roller.

Tim I am having the same problem on one now. Been battling it for a few weeks. Talked to Ricoh w/no help. tried a few cleaner assys, vac and cleaned rear auger tube. I will find out this week if, or when, the prob comes back. I will try to update.

                    Hi Rich

yeah I had changed the whole transfer unit from a good machine and also the black dev and drum unit on a whim it may be the drum seal and or the dev unit somehow but it didn't fix it.

Funny my you should mention the auger as I vaced out the entrance only mind, just in case it had hard toner blocking it on my last visit. If that is all it is, with you I will then vac my tubes then. Please let me know as soon as you can as I feel like writing the machine of as it 50 miles away and can swap it with another one.

Thanks for for getting back and hope your having a fun weekend.

                    Tim.
