On and MPC 5503 I am getting a banding problem on halftones. When I run a full dot pattern on a 6 density CMYK all have varying forms of banding. The dev units have been replaced, the transfer unit, the transfer roller, and the k drum unit. The problem improved slightly after replacing all of that but it is still obvious on light prints, but not dark. Any ideas?

Did you find this corrected the issue? It appears to be an ongoing concern for this 03 series.
I applied the service bulletin and saw little to no results.Comment

Ruben is in Great Britain. Some of the things that they can get on MyRicoh in areas outside the US are not available here. Also, a lot of things that we can get on either TSRC or rfg-esource are not on MyRicoh there.
It could also be that those bulletins that start with RD are for Ricoh Direct only and not directly available to dealer techs.Comment

Ok, ran some more test prints finally on this machine. After applying the service bulletin, there is a noticeable improvement, no further improvement with increased values.
This machine certainly doesn't want to cooperate! For such a new machine, it shouldn't be having such issues.

We have exactly the same issue on a MPC5503 and the bulletin makes no difference to half-tones. Did yours end up being the laser at fault?Comment
