[Error Code] Pro1107EX w/ SR5020 - Phantom J001 and SC755

Hello there.

I've got a Pro1107EX with the Booklet Finisher SR5020 which is giving me, as stated in the subject line, frequent (but not all the time) phantom J001 jams (usually when waking up or after opening/closing the finisher door). If I open/close the finisher door, the jam either disappears, stays or is replaced by a SC755 code.

As per the manual, 755 is either the shift motor, shift sensors or finisher board. The motor moves, so, for now, I'm ruling it out. The sensors were swapped for others somewhere else in the finisher, and nothing changed, so I'm also ruling them out. Leaves me with the finisher boards. Which one?

Both machine and finisher firmwares up-to-date.

Any hints?

Seems to me that Ricoh motors are not the greatest. I'd try a new motor before a new board. Can you cheat the door and watch it to see if the motor turns?

The jam is meaningless. The first time an error occurs in the finisher a jam code is displayed. Open and close the door to clear the am and if the error still happens, the SC is shown. Check for something mechanical preventing the the shift assemble from getting to the home position sensor.

JAM 001 is a "power on" jam so will show more when you open and close the door.

I would clean the exit sensors on the black lift plate (and the patches) They get Very dusty. I use my phone camera to get a good look inside the exit section at the sensors.

If you have a punch unit, unplug ALL supply Connectors from the punch PCB, Make sure the punch pins are all in the "up" position and see if the fault disappears. We have several Which run tight, but usually cause SC 760.
the machine will run fine with the punch In situ but disconnected to test.

Is there a light Source shining into the finisher? I had One where the sun would reflect from a white wall into the finisher exit Causing misdetection.

RTB Suggesting black tape on the top edge of the staple section to prevent reflections.

I hadn't thought of that even though i have had bright room lighting cause the MFP to indicate that the proof tray was full.

I just found out that the shift wheel shaft was bent (red part in the picture bellow), knocking the shift sensors out of their sockets.

I just found out that the shift wheel shaft was bent (red part in the picture bellow), knocking the shift sensors out of their sockets.
